Do you have a favourite teacher?

Thí sinh

Yeah, I do have a favorite teacher. It's my English teacher, Miss Leo. She's leaning patience and always encourages us to speak up even if we make mistakes. For example, she once did after class to help me with my pronunciation, which made me feel more confident. Honestly, she's reason I studied enjoying English classes.

Are you still in touch with your primary school teacher?

Thí sinh

To be honest, not really. After my graduated from primary school would just naturally lost contact. I mean teachers change classes every year so it's hard to keep that connection going. But sometimes when I walk past my older school I do think of them and feel a bit grateful for their patients back then. It's a nice memory even though we don't talk anymore.

In what way did your favourite teacher help you?

Thí sinh

My favorite teacher, Mr. Leo, really helped me build up my confidence in English. He always encouraged me to speak up in class even when my grandma was a mess, and he never made me feel embarrassed. Because of him, I started to enjoy writing essays and even won a prize in the school competition. Honestly, I feel really grateful because he made learning less.

Do you want to be a teacher in the future?

Thí sinh

Honestly, not really. I think being a teacher is a way too stressful, especially in China where you have to deal with huge class sizes and endless exam pressure. I've seen my own teachers working late into the night grading papers and that just doesn't appeal for me. I'd rather find a job with more flexibility and less responsibilities.

Ngữ pháp

13:Incorrect use of adjectives or adverbs

× She's leaning patience and always encourages us to speak up even if we make mistakes.

She's learning patience and always encourages us to speak up even if we make mistakes.

原句中使用了動詞形式錯誤:'leaning'(倾斜/学习的进行式)和名词 'patience' 搭配不当。表達“她在學會有耐心”或“她很有耐心”應使用短語 'learning patience'(在学会耐心)或直接用形容詞 'patient'(有耐心)。根據語境更自然的改寫是 'She's patient and always encourages...' 或 'She's learning patience...' 建議:辨別何时需要形容词(描述人)、何时需要動詞短語(描述動作)。用法上常用 'be + adjective' 来描述性格特質。

9:Verb in the past participle form

× For example, she once did after class to help me with my pronunciation, which made me feel more confident.

For example, she once stayed after class to help me with my pronunciation, which made me feel more confident.

原句 'did after class' 缺少合適動詞,語義不清。正確表達“她曾經留在課後幫我”應使用短語 'stay/stayed after class'。因為敘述過去事件,用過去式 'stayed'。建議:遇到描述某人留下來幫忙時使用 'stay after class',注意時態一致。

13:Incorrect use of adjectives or adverbs

× Honestly, she's reason I studied enjoying English classes.

Honestly, she's the reason I enjoy studying English classes.

原句詞序和詞性錯誤:缺少定冠詞 'the' 且 'reason' 應與從句 'I enjoy studying English classes' 正確連接。另外 'studied enjoying' 順序錯誤,動詞形式應為 'enjoy' + 動名詞 'studying' 或 'enjoy English classes'。建議:使用 'the reason' 引導原因,並選擇 'enjoy English' 或 'enjoy studying English' 其中一種正確搭配。

5:Past tense issue

× To be honest, not really. After my graduated from primary school would just naturally lost contact.

To be honest, not really. After I graduated from primary school we just naturally lost contact.

原句中 'my graduated' 使用錯誤的代詞和動詞形式,應為主語 'I' 加過去式 'graduated'。另外缺少主句主詞,'would just naturally lost contact' 時態錯誤,應使用過去式 'lost' 並用適當主詞 'we'。建議:主語和動詞要一致,過去事件用過去式,避免混用 'would' 導致語氣不自然。

23:Sentence without a verb

× I mean teachers change classes every year so it's hard to keep that connection going.

I mean teachers change classes every year, so it's hard to keep that connection going.

原句其實主要是標點問題導致讀起來像缺動詞。經調整後在 'year,' 後加逗號使兩分句連接清楚。語法上第二分句完整。建議:注意標點以使句子結構清晰;若想保留,確保每一分句都有主語和謂語。

13:Incorrect use of adjectives or adverbs

× But sometimes when I walk past my older school I do think of them and feel a bit grateful for their patients back then.

But sometimes when I walk past my old school I do think of them and feel a bit grateful for their patience back then.

原句 'older school' 不自然,應為 'old school' 或 'former school'。'patients' 是名詞複數意為耐心(拼寫錯誤應為 'patience',且此處不可數)。建議:使用 'old school' 或 'my former school',並記住 'patience' 是不可數名詞,注意拼寫。

13:Incorrect use of adjectives or adverbs

× My favorite teacher, Mr. Leo, really helped me build up my confidence in English. He always encouraged me to speak up in class even when my grandma was a mess, and he never made me feel embarrassed.

My favorite teacher, Mr. Leo, really helped me build up my confidence in English. He always encouraged me to speak up in class even when my grammar was a mess, and he never made me feel embarrassed.

原句把 'grammar' 拼成 'grandma'(奶奶),屬於用詞錯誤。根據語境應為 'grammar'(語法/文法),表示講話時語法混亂。建議:注意單詞拼寫和語境,'grammar' 與 'grandma' 發音相近但意思完全不同。

13:Incorrect use of adjectives or adverbs

× Because of him, I started to enjoy writing essays and even won a prize in the school competition. Honestly, I feel really grateful because he made learning less.

Because of him, I started to enjoy writing essays and even won a prize in the school competition. Honestly, I feel really grateful because he made learning easier.

原句 'made learning less' 不完整且不通順,應為 'made learning easier'(使學習變得更容易)。'less' 需要比較對象,不能單獨使用於此。建議:用 'easier' 表示程度減輕的比較形容詞,確保語意完整。

6:Present tense issue

× Honestly, not really. I think being a teacher is a way too stressful, especially in China where you have to deal with huge class sizes and endless exam pressure.

Honestly, not really. I think being a teacher is way too stressful, especially in China where you have to deal with huge class sizes and endless exam pressure.

原句 'a way too stressful' 多餘地使用了不定冠詞 'a'。'way too' 作為副詞短語修飾形容詞時不加冠詞,正確為 'way too stressful'。建議:記住固定搭配 'way too + adjective',不要插入 'a'。

27:Subject-verb agreement errors

× I've seen my own teachers working late into the night grading papers and that just doesn't appeal for me.

I've seen my own teachers working late into the night grading papers and that just doesn't appeal to me.

原句中固定搭配是 'appeal to someone',漏掉介詞 'to' 並導致搭配錯誤。此處主語與動詞一致無誤。建議:學習並記憶常用動詞短語(phrasal verbs / verb + preposition),如 'appeal to'。

14:Incorrect use of quantifiers

× I'd rather find a job with more flexibility and less responsibilities.

I'd rather find a job with more flexibility and fewer responsibilities.

原句 'less responsibilities' 與可數名詞搭配不當。'responsibilities' 是可數複數,因此應用 'fewer' 而不是 'less'。建議:可數名詞用 'few/fewer',不可數名詞用 'little/less'。
